Safeguarding Statement
Website safeguarding statement for children, young people and vulnerable learners
Last updated: 25 June 2026
1. Commitment to safeguarding
Hagwon Education Plus is committed to providing a safe, respectful and supportive learning environment for children, young people and adult learners. Safeguarding is treated seriously in both online and in-person tuition. The safety and wellbeing of learners is more important than any lesson or booking.
2. Tutor status and professional standards
Hagwon Education Plus is run by Farah Kader, a qualified teacher, examiner and experienced private tutor. The business aims to follow professional standards in communication, lesson delivery, boundaries, record keeping and safeguarding practice.
Enhanced DBS / DBS Update Service information may be provided to parents or clients where appropriate and where available.
3. Online lessons
Online lessons should take place in an appropriate learning environment.
For learners under 18, a parent or guardian should know when the lesson is taking place and be contactable if needed.
Learners should use appropriate language and behaviour during online lessons.
Students are encouraged to turn their camera on briefly at the beginning of the lesson to say hello and ensure everything is working smoothly. Cameras may then remain off where appropriate depending on comfort, age, lesson type and safeguarding considerations.
Lessons should not be photographed, screenshotted, audio recorded, video recorded, livestreamed, AI-transcribed or shared unless this has been agreed in writing in advance with appropriate consent.
Private personal contact outside agreed learning channels should be avoided.
4. In-person lessons
In-person lessons are arranged only where suitable and by prior agreement.
For learners under 18, a parent/guardian or responsible adult should normally be present or nearby, unless otherwise agreed as appropriate.
Lessons should take place in a suitable, safe and appropriate environment.
Travel, location and timing arrangements should be agreed in advance.
5. Parent/guardian responsibilities
Parents/guardians are asked to provide accurate information about the learner, including any relevant health, learning, access, wellbeing, SEND or safeguarding needs that may affect tuition. Parents/guardians should ensure the learner attends lessons safely and appropriately.
6. Communication boundaries
Communication about learners under 18 should normally be through a parent or guardian. Where direct communication with an older student is appropriate for educational reasons, it should remain professional, relevant to tuition and transparent.
7. Safeguarding concerns
If a safeguarding concern arises, Hagwon Education Plus may need to record the concern and share information with a parent/guardian, school, safeguarding professional, local authority, police or other relevant organisation where necessary to protect a learner or another person. Confidentiality cannot be promised where there is a safeguarding concern or risk of harm.
8. Conduct
Hagwon Education Plus may end a lesson or terminate services where behaviour is abusive, discriminatory, unsafe, inappropriate or contrary to safeguarding expectations.
9. Contact
Safeguarding or wellbeing concerns relating to Hagwon Education Plus tuition should be sent to info@hagwoneducation.com.
